Tea Lovers, Take Note: Prada launches ‘Tea Perfume’ inspired by Indian chai
PTC Web Desk: Whether it’s winter and you need a steaming hot cup of tea, summer when tea helps shake off laziness, or rainy weather when tea is best enjoyed with pakoras—Indians love tea just as much as Italians love Prada. And it seems that Prada, too, has now fallen in love with India. After the Kolhapuri chappal, Prada has added another Indian favorite—tea—to its fashion list, but this time in the form of a perfume.
Under its perfume collection Les Infusions, Prada has introduced a tea-scented fragrance. The aroma is described as light and creamy, slightly spicy (like the sharpness of black pepper blended with tea), and mildly intense.
Prada’s Infusion de Santal Chai is a unisex perfume, suitable for both men and women. This fragrance carries the warmth of Indian tea, featuring the sweetness of cinnamon, the freshness of cardamom, and the sharpness of citrus fruits—elements believed to uplift a low mood. It is said to be ideal for everyday use. The perfume comes in a light brown luxury bottle.
According to Prada’s official website, the price of this luxury perfume is $190, approximately ₹17,000—certainly not as affordable as a regular cup of tea.
With its luxury perfume de Santal Chai, Prada has high expectations, similar to the buzz created by the Kolhapuri chappal at Milan Fashion Week. However, reactions to the perfume have been mixed. On the other hand, tea lovers have high hopes from this unique fragrance.
