PTC Web Desk: A humorous rap song created by a group of young men from Punjab’s Talwara region has become an overnight sensation on social media, garnering more than 3 million views within just 11 hours of its release.

The rap video, shared on the Instagram page talwara_cypher, has attracted widespread attention for its light-hearted yet pointed commentary on government welfare schemes aimed at women. Through witty lyrics and satire, the creators have appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to consider extending financial assistance to men as well.

In the song, the young rappers highlight several initiatives that benefit women, including financial support schemes and free bus travel facilities. They argue that men should also receive some form of economic assistance and jokingly suggest that if women are eligible for financial aid, men should at least be granted Rs 500 per month.

One of the song’s most talked-about lines urges the Chief Minister to ensure that some benefits also reach men, a message that has resonated widely with social media users and contributed to the video’s rapid rise in popularity.

The performers further add a comedic twist by remarking that they have not arrived from another planet and therefore should not be treated differently. In another playful segment, they joke that if government benefits continue to be directed exclusively towards women, men may soon find themselves at a disadvantage even within their own households.

Thousands of users have reacted to the video, praising the creators for addressing a public issue through music, humour and creative storytelling.
