Twitter's new edit feature likely to keep track of your tweet history
Washington, April 18: Twitter's new 'Edit Tweet' feature has been making headlines for quite some time. While there were questions about the 'Edit Tweet' button's nature, it appears that the new feature may leave a digital trail of your tweet's history. According to The Verge, the edit feature appears to have an 'immutable' quality, which means that when a tweet is edited, Twitter may create a totally new tweet while keeping earlier versions. "Looks like Twitter's approach to Edit Tweet is immutable, as in, instead of mutating the Tweet text within the same Tweet, it re-creates a new Tweet with the amended content, along with the list of the old Tweets prior to that edit," developer Manchun Wong informed. Alessandro Paluzzi, an app researcher, also shared screenshots of the new edit button, teasing us with how the feature might look once it's live on Twitter. Paluzzi displays how the 'Edit Tweet' option might appear in the three-dot menu on the right side of your tweets in one screenshot. Meanwhile, only Twitter Blue users will have access to the edit option at first, but it will eventually be made available to all users. Twitter has earlier announced that it is focusing on allowing users to edit their tweets after they have been sent to correct typos and mistakes. "Now that everyone is asking. Sure, we've been working on an edit function since last year!" the microblogging site stated. Also Read | IPL 2022: Overseas player among 3 Covid-19 positives in Delhi Capitals -PTC News
