Ukraine's gas transmission system operator closes 16 stations amid Russia's invasion
Kiev, March 6: Due to Russia's ongoing military operations in Ukraine, the war-torn country's gas transmission system operator has shut down 16 distribution stations in six of its oblasts (administrative regions), according to state-run media.
Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kiev, Donetsk and Luhansk are among the shutdown oblasts, according to the report.
"Ukraine's gas transmission system operator has had to shut down 16 gas distribution stations in six of Ukraine's oblasts - Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Donetsk and Luhansk, as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion, the operator announced on Telegram on March 5," the Kyiv Independent said on Twitter.
Meanwhile, according to Sputnik News Agency, the third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine may take place on March 7.
In the second round of talks in Belarus on March 4, Russia and Ukraine agreed to set up humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba on Sunday demanded new sanctions against Russia and urged governments of several countries, including India, to appeal to Russia to end the war.
He also accused Russia of breaking the ceasefire agreements during a televised address, urging it to halt shooting so that civilians, especially foreign students, could escape.
Kuleba asserted that Russia is trying to "win the sympathy" of countries with their nationals in Ukraine. He stated that if Russia stops "manipulating" the issue of foreign students, all of them will be safely evacuated.
"I call on the governments of India, China, and Nigeria, to appeal to Russia to stop the fire and allow civilians to leave," he added.
