2 Sikh men brutally assaulted by teens in UK; SAD chief urges Jaishankar to raise issue with UK government
PTC News Desk: Two Sikh men were allegedly assaulted by teenagers on the streets of UK. The racist attack occurred outside a railway station in Wolverhampton.
The viral video doing rounds on social media showed the victims lying on the ground being kicked repeatedly by one of the attackers until he was pulled away by another. The turbans of the Sikh men also fell off during the assault.
Three teenagers were arrested in connection with the case, however were later released on bail. The incident has triggered massive uproar across the Sikh diaspora abroad seeking justice and exemplary action against the accused.
Meanwhile SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal has condemned the racial attack against Sikh community and urged EAM Jaishankar to to raise the issue with the UK government to ensure the safety of Sikh expatriates living in that country.

"This racist hate crime targets the Sikh community, which always seeks Sarbat Da Bhala (the well-being of all). Known for its benevolence and compassion, the Sikh community deserves safety and respect worldwide. I urge West Midlands Police and the UK Home Office to act swiftly & deliver justice the victims. I also urge Union External Affairs Minister DrS Jaishankar to raise this issue with the UK government to ensure the safety of the Sikh diaspora," SAD chief wrote.
"Meanwhile, I appeal to all Sikh brethren settled abroad to support each other in this hour of need," he further added.
Local MP Sureena Brackenridge has also condemned the incident and sought any relevant information from the people and contact the police directly or make an anonymous report through the police hotline. "I am aware of an incident that took place at Wolverhampton Railway Station with a video currently circulating on social media. My thoughts are with all of those affected," she said in an online post.
