Canada police arrest two Indian-origin men for Sikh businessman's murder
PTC News Desk: Canada police have arrested two 21-year-old Indian origin men in connection with the murder case of Sikh businessman Harjeet Dhadda who was shot multiple times in a parking area in Mississauga, Ontario, on May 14.
The arrested accused have been identified as Aman and Digvijay, from Delta, British Columbia.
The Sikh victim hailed from Uttarakhand and was operating a trucking safety and insurance consultancy in Brampton, Ontario. Days before his brutal murder, he had informed the police about persistent threats that he had been receiving from the extortionists.
Meanwhile his daughter Gurlin Dhadda visibly outraged has held Canadian government responsible for its failure to curb extortion and targetted violence. "Why are innocent people left defenceless while the threats grow louder? When the authorities fail to protect us, what options do we have?" she said in a statement issued a day after her father's murder.
On May 14, Dhadda, was approached by the suspect and shot multiple times while in a parking area near Tranmere Drive and Telford Way in Mississauga. The victim later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
