Hamas has designed these tunnels for various purposes, including facilitating attacks, smuggling, providing storage, and serving as operational hideouts. These revelations have been confirmed by sources from both Western and Middle Eastern regions who are knowledgeable about the situation.

The United States is of the belief that Israeli special forces will face an unprecedented and highly challenging task when dealing with Hamas militants in this underground network. Their mission will involve not only confronting the militants but also trying to avoid harming hostages who might be held in subterranean chambers, as mentioned by a U.S. official.

A rocket launched during the Israel-Hamas conflict injured six individuals in an Egyptian border town, as reported by local media. The incident occurred in Taba, situated near a border crossing with Israel. Witnesses informed AFP that the rocket struck a hospital annex in the Red Sea town, resulting in damage to the building and vehicles.
