US launches 'deadly' strike against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria for slaughtering Christians, says Trump
PTC News Desk: US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that American forces had carried out multiple deadly airstrikes against ISIS fighters in Nigeria, accusing the group of attacking and killing Christians in the region.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump said the strikes were launched on his orders and targeted ISIS militants operating in northwest Nigeria. He claimed the group had been “brutally killing innocent Christians” and that the violence had reached extreme levels. Trump said he had earlier warned the terrorists to stop the attacks, adding that they now faced serious consequences.
According to Trump, the US military carried out several precise strikes, praising the operation and referring to the Pentagon as the “Department of War.” He said the action showed his administration’s strong stance against radical Islamic terrorism.
Trump also praised US forces and extended Christmas wishes. Nigeria has long struggled with violence from extremist groups such as Boko Haram and ISIS-linked factions, especially in its northern regions.
The US recently designated Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” under its religious freedom law. Trump had earlier said he asked the Pentagon to prepare military options after reports of attacks on Christians. The State Department has also imposed visa restrictions on Nigerians linked to violence against Christian communities.
