Former Haryana Minister Savitri Jindal resigns from Congress party

PTC News Desk: Following her son's recent move to join the BJP, Savitri Jindal, the 84-year-old former Haryana minister, has announced her resignation from the Congress party. The decision was conveyed through a social media post made late on Wednesday night.

Having served as an MLA representing the people of Hisar for a decade and dedicating herself to the welfare of Haryana as a minister, Savitri Jindal expressed gratitude to her constituents and stated, "The people of Hisar are my family, and on the advice of my family, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Congress today," in her post written in Hindi.

This decision comes in the wake of her son, industrialist Naveen Jindal, parting ways with the Congress to join the BJP. Naveen, a former Member of Parliament and the son of renowned industrialist and former Haryana minister OP Jindal, has been nominated as the BJP candidate from Kurukshetra.
