18th Asian Games: Blank day for Indian wrestlers

18th Asian Games: Blank day for Indian wrestlers After winning a gold medal each on first two days of competitions in wrestling, India had to draw consolation with a bronze medal on the third day of the competition. The medal was won by  Divya Kakran in  68 kg freestyle for women.

The bronze, third medal for India in wrestling, has taken India's total tally to double figures with three gold medals, three silver medals and four bronze medals.
Though there were four wrestlers on mats today, both men - Gyanender in  60 kg category and Manish in 68 kg category - ended without a medal.
Though Manish qualified for the bronze medal match through repechage, he faltered at the final hurdle.
Divya Kakran gave a superb account of herself in the bronze medal match against  Chen Wenling of Taipei pinning her opponent down in 90 seconds to win on technical superiority.
Divya had lost the quarter-final to Sinta Desi of Mongolia but qualified for the bronze medal through the repechage.
Another Indian woman wrestler in the fray was Kiran who lost in quarterfinals in 76 kg freestyle.
