20 Killed In Nepal As Truck Plunges Onto River Bank
More than 20 people died and fourteen others were injured after a truck carrying people plunged 1,300 feet onto a river bank on Friday in Central Nepal. The truck was carrying mourners who were returning from a funeral.
Police was able to retrieve 18 bodies at the site. Injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. One person was declared brought dead while many others died during the treatment. According to the media reports, freezing temperatures, no light and remote location were making the rescue operation much difficult.
The police told that the authorities were yet to find the exact reason of the crash. It further told that the vehicle crashes were mainly to be blamed on poorly maintained vehicles, poor roads and reckless driving.
