Advocate Indira Jaising urges Nirbhaya's mother to follow Sonia Gandhi's example, forgive convicts

Senior Advocate Indira Jaising has urged Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi to follow Sonia Gandhi's example and forgive all the four convicts of Nirbhaya rape case. Yesterday, Asha Devi was quoted by ANI as saying: "Till now, I never talked about politics, but now I want to say that those people who held protests on streets in 2012, today the same people are only playing with my daughter's death for political gains." Taking her statement, Indira Jaising took to twitter and wrote: "While I fully identify with the pain of Asha Devi I urge her to follow the example of Sonia Gandhi who forgave Nalini and said she didn’t not want the death penalty for her. We are with you but against death penalty." Reacting to her statement, Asha Devi said, "Who is Indira Jaising to give me such a suggestion? Whole country wants the convicts to be executed. Just because of people like her, justice is not done with rape victims." https://www.ptcnews.tv/nirbhaya-rape-case-delhi-court-directs-nirbhaya-convicts-hanging-feb-1-en/ She added that "Can't believe how Indira Jaising even dared to suggest such this. I met her many times over the years in Supreme Court, not once she asked for my wellbeing and today she is speaking for convicts. Such people earn livelihood by supporting rapists, hence rape incidents don't stop." Delhi court has issued a fresh death warrant and now all the four accused will be executed on February 1 at 6 am. -PTC News
