The protesters said, “Before coming to power, the Congress had announced to waive farm debt, which never happened. It claimed that it had waived Rs 2 lakh, benefits of which never reached any farmer. Now, the bank is filing complaints on the basis of blank cheques given by farmers at the time of availing loan.”

The farmers handed over a memorandum to the bank officials.
