Himachal Pradesh: In view of a massive inflow of tourists, the Manali administration issued strict COVID-19 restrictions that people flouting Covid guidelines will have to face stern action.
According to the information, a fine of Rs 5,000 will be slapped on people violating Covid-19 rules or may even face jail for up to 8 days.

Gurudev Sharma, SP, Kullu, said that over Rs 3 lakh challans were issued in the last seven days.

The new rules came into existence after photos and videos of crowd thronging Manali went viral on social media. Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing a huge inflow of tourists after the state government relaxed Covid-19 restrictions.
Several photos are making rounds on social media which show the famous Mall road crowded.
As coronavirus cases have started to decline in the country, tourists are thronging to the destinations like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Narkanda, and other parts of the state.
Earlier this week, the government stated that it was “frightening" to see pictures of tourists thronging hill stations. Even as the Central government asked people to comply with Covid-appropriate behavior.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed concerns over the flouting of Covid protocols in Himachal Pradesh.
