Delhi blast: NIA arrests Pulwama man who helped suicide bomber procure car used for blast
The man, Amir, was caught in Delhi after investigators found that the car used in the November 10 blast was registered in his name.
PTC News Desk: In a big step forward in the Red Fort car bomb case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Kashmiri man who helped suicide bomber Dr. Umar Un Nabi carry out the attack that killed 10 people and injured 32 in Delhi earlier this month.
The man, Amir, was caught in Delhi after investigators found that the car used in the November 10 blast was registered in his name. The NIA says he came to Delhi to help Umar get the vehicle, which was later turned into a car bomb.
According to the agency, Amir worked closely with Umar — who was an Assistant Professor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad — to plan and execute the attack near the Red Fort.
Investigators have also taken another vehicle owned by Umar for forensic tests to look for more clues.
So far, the NIA has questioned 73 people, including survivors of the blast, to piece together the full conspiracy. The agency is working with police teams from Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and other central agencies as it follows leads in different states. Officials believe more people were involved in the plan, and more arrests are likely.
The NIA says its main goal now is to find the entire network behind the attack — including those who planned it, supported it, or funded it — so that everyone responsible can be caught and punished.
