Star-studded opening of Ram temple: Ambani, Adani, Sachin, Virat, Big B likely to be invited

PTC News Desk: The guest list for the consecration ceremony of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya will likely include prominent people from various walks of life, including politics, business, sports, media, and movies, as well as prominent seers from across the country. The grand ceremony will be held on January 22 next year.

The trust in charge of the construction of the grand temple in Ayodhya, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, will invite 7,000 people, including 3,000 VVIPs, to the opening ceremony of Ram Mandir.

"The guest list is likely to include cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, star batsman Virat Kohli, actor Amitabh Bachchan, industrialists Ratan Tata (Tata Group chairman), Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Group chairman) and Gautam Adani (Adani Group chairperson)," a person familiar with the matter said on condition of anonymity.

Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhalia Topiwala, who played Ram and Sita in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 television serial Ramayan, are also expected to be invited by the Trust. According to the source, yoga instructor Ramdev will also be invited.

"Owners of large media houses and senior journalists are also likely to be invited," the individual went on to say.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the event's chief guest, will perform the rituals in the Ram Temple's sanctum sanctorum at around 12.15 pm during the pran pratishtha (consecration) ceremony. Mohan Bhagwat, the president of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), is also expected to take the stage with Modi.

“The Trust is also trying to invite one representative each from 50 foreign countries. The Trust will also invite families of kar sevaks who lost their lives in the Ram Mandir movement. Invitations are also being sent to scientists, judges, writers and poets," Trust’s general secretary Champat Rai said.

According to the temple trust, all four Shankaracharyas (heads of the four major Hindu monasteries) will be special guests at the event. “Invitations are also being sent to other saints, religious leaders, former civil servants, ex-Army officers, lawyers and musicians."
