Navjot Singh Sidhu attends cabinet meeting amid controversies

Local Government Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu is present at the ongoing Cabinet meeting after a long day of controversies and disappointment over being ignored in mayoral elections.

The meeting is chaired by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh at Chandigarh on Wednesday.

Before the Cabinet meeting which began at 3.30 pm, he had issued a dissenting statement on the issue of being kept out of the mayoral election in Punjab.

Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday said he was deeply affected by the fact that he was “not involved in the process” for elections to local bodies by the state government, especially in the elections to Municipal Corporations of Patiala, Jalandhar and Amritsar.

Meanwhile, there was speculation whether local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu will attend Wednesday’s cabinet meeting or not.
