PTC News Desk: In a significant development, the Punjab police have cracked the murder case of an NRI woman, Prabhjot Kaur, who was killed in a hotel in Amritsar. The accused husband, Mandeep Singh Dhillon was arrested in Ganganagar, Rajasthan. He has been remanded to three-day police custody.

The accused was produced before a court in Amritsar, which granted the police a three-day remand. Police said further significant revelations are likely, and officials believe the accused’s statement could uncover the entire conspiracy behind the murder.

The deceased was originally from Gurdaspur and was living in Austria. She had come to India with her husband to attend a family function.

The incident occurred a few days ago in a hotel room in Amritsar, where the body of Prabhjot Kaur was found. Hotel staff grew suspicious when the accused did not return to the room for a long time and there was no movement inside.

After repeated knocks went unanswered, the hotel staff informed the police. When the police broke open the door, they found the woman’s body lying under the bed.

Investigations revealed that she had been attacked multiple times with a sharp weapon. The victim’s brother alleged that the husband killed Prabhjot over his suspicion on her character. The couple also has a six-month-old son, whom the accused did not take with him.
