Gagandeep Randhawa death: Family refuses to conduct post mortem until arrest of ex-minister Laljit Bhullar
Randhawa’s wife, Upinder Kaur, while addressing the media, said the family would not permit the post-mortem until Bhullar and other suspects are taken into custody.
PTC News Desk: The family of deceased Punjab State Warehousing Corporation official Gagandeep Singh Randhawa has demanded arrest of former Punjab minister Laljit Singh Bhullar and other accused before allowing to conduct post-mortem examination of the body.
Randhawa’s wife, Upinder Kaur, while addressing the media, said the family would not permit the post-mortem until Bhullar and other suspects are taken into custody.
“We want justice first. The post-mortem will only be conducted and the body will be cremated after the arrest of the accused minister,” she asserted.
She also accused the Punjab government in delaying registration of FIR deliberately and demanded immediate police protestion fearing for their safety.
“If anything happens to me or my family, the AAP government will be responsible,” she warned.
The incident snowballed into a political storm in Punjab with opposition parties demanding stringent action and transparent probe by an independent body.
Gagandeep Singh Randhawa used to work as district manager Punjab State Warehousing Corporation. He allegedly died by suicide on Saturday and blamed Laljit Singh Bhullar of mentally harassing him and physicallly torturing him over warehouse construction tenders in the Patti and Khemkaran areas of Tarn Taran.
According to the complainant, Upinder Kaur, wife of the deceased, the conflict began over tenders issued in October 2025 for new warehouses in the Patti and Khemkaran areas of Tarn Taran. She also alleged that her husband was tortured to an extent that it pushed him to end his life.
