PUNSUP staff on strike over non-implementation of Sixth Pay Commission

Chandigarh, March 4: The state-owned foodgrain procurement agency PUNSUP staged a strike against the Punjab Government over its failure to implement Sixth Pay Commission.

Protesting union leaders intensified their strike against the state government, questioning why the Punjab government has refused to implement the sixth pay commission for PUNSUP employees if it can be implemented for the rest of the procurement agencies.

Punjab government has been delaying implementation of the sixth pay commission for a long time, they added.

The strike is expected to have an impact on the procurement season, as PUNSUP employees across the state have gone on strike and they have stated that the strike will continue until the Punjab government implements the Sixth Pay Commission.
