ED raids in Punjab: Searches in Patiala, Mohali continue over alleged call centre links
The Enforcement Directorate has conducted searches in Patiala and Mohali, with premises linked to DM Web Solutions and Flying Feathers under investigation
PTC Web Desk: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out search operations at multiple locations in Patiala and Mohali on Tuesday night, with the searches continuing into Wednesday morning. The agency has not yet officially disclosed the full details of the investigation or the specific allegations behind the action.
In Patiala, ED officials searched premises in Urban Estate Phase II, including establishments linked to DM Web Based Solutions and Flying Feathers. According to reports, officials examined documents, computer data and other records during the operation. Two establishments in the area were also reported to have been sealed during the searches.
Another ED team reached Plot No. 2010 in IT City, Sector 82A, Mohali, where records linked to the ongoing investigation were examined. The searches reportedly began late at night and continued for several hours.
Initial reports have linked the Patiala operation to alleged fake call centre activities and possible cyber-fraud connections. However, the precise nature of the case and the role of any individuals or companies will become clearer only after the ED releases further details.
The action has also drawn political attention. Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia referred to the ED searches involving Flying Feathers and DM Web Based Solutions. He alleged that activities were being carried out under the cover of IELTS classes and raised claims about possible fraud involving people abroad.
Reports have also suggested that the investigation could involve links to other individuals and business establishments. However, no official ED statement confirming the identity or involvement of any IPS officer in the current searches was available at the time of reporting.
