Sikh devotees in India, Pakistan to hold ardas at Zero Line seeking reopening of Kartarpur Corridor

PTC Web Desk:  Sikh devotees from India and Pakistan will hold a joint ardas (religious prayer) at the Zero Line on Monday, seeking the early reopening of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.

Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj will reach the Zero Line at Dera Baba Nanak from the Indian side to participate in the ardas. 

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is taking out Nagar Kirtan from Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur to the Zero Line. The Nagar Kirtan is scheduled to reach the Zero Line at around 5:30 pm Indian Standard Time.

The Sikh community from Pakistan's Punjab region is participating in the Nagar Kirtan with religious fervour and devotion.

Ardas for reopening of corridor

After Nagar Kirtan reaches the Zero Line, religious programmes, including Rehras Sahib, Gurbani Kirtan and Aarti, will be held. Ardas will then be offered before Guru Sahib, with devotees praying for the early reopening of the Kartarpur Corridor.

Sikh sangat on both sides of the international border will separately conduct Rehras Sahib, Aarti and Shabad Kirtan before offering prayers for the corridor to be reopened at the earliest.

Call for maximum participation

Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj has appealed to Sikh devotees from Dera Baba Nanak and nearby border areas to reach the Zero Line at 5:30 pm on Monday and take part in the religious programme and Ardas.

He said the prayer would seek the reopening of the corridor so that devotees can once again visit Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, a sacred site associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji, as they did earlier.
