Andhra Pradesh Lawmaker, 76, Dies In Car Crash In US
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Member and Director of Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management University, MVVS Murthy, died in a road accident in the US. Murthy along with three others, were killed when their car collided with a truck on the highway near Alaska.
MVVS Murthy (76) was an educationist who was in the US to participate in GITAM Alumni meet on October 6. They all were on their way to a wildlife sanctuary when the accident took place.

Murthy was an active TDP leader since 1983. He had also served as Lok Sabha MP from Visakhapatnam twice. He was elected to Parliament from Visakhapatnam for the first time in 1991 and again in 1999.
He earned his doctorate in economics from Andhra University. He founded many colleges in his native district- East Godavari. He also owned a soft drinks bottling plant in Visakhapatnam.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has condoled the death of MVVS Murthy, saying, “Deeply saddened by the sudden demise of my long-term associate, a sincere party member and parliamentarian, MVVS Murthy, in a road accident. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the bereaved family.” -PTC NEWS
