Army chopper crashes in Jammu; both pilots safe

Army's Cheetah Helicopter Crash at Reasi in Jammu: In a major incident, an Army chopper Cheetah made a crash in Jammu on Monday. Reportedly, both the pilots are safe. As per reports, the incident took place at about 11:15 am on Monday. An official of Indian Army stated that both the pilots are safe and out of danger. According to the information, the Cheetah chopper developed a technical snag before crashing. As per report, the chopper was on a normal routine between Udhapur to Reasi. Meanwhile, the Army has ordered an inquiry into the incident. In October 2019, a helicopter carrying then Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, and other senior officials of the Indian Army made an emergency landing in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. While this incident took place, the helicopter Dhruv Advanced Light (ALH) was on a routine from Udhapur to Poonch. It developed a technical error before making a crash landing. During this incident, the helicopter was on its way from Khirmu in Arunachal Pradesh to Bhutan. Lt Colonel Ranjeesh Parmar and Captain Kalzang Wangdi of Royal Bhutan Army lost were killed in the crash. Also, it was Ranjeesh Parmar's 41st birthday. -PTC News
