Una, February 22: A blast ripped through a firecracker factory at Tahliwal in Una district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, burning seven persons alive and leaving 12 injured. Relief and rescue operation is underway.

As per reports reaching here, a fire incident following a blast was reported at Industrial Area, Bathri tehsil in Haroli district, Una, Himachal Pradesh. The fire broke out due to an explosion at the firecracker factory Bathdi, The injured were immediately taken to Sian Hospital Bathri. The cause of the fire will be investigated. According to the information received, even persons have died and around 12 are injured, who have been sent to the regional hospital Una for treatment." Further probe in the matter is underway. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to next of kin of those who lost their lives in the factory mishap in Himachal Pradesh.

"Rs 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the tragic factory mishap in Himachal Pradesh, and Rs 50,000 would be given to the injured," tweeted Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Tuesday.
