In a major incident, a 15-year-old boy was arrested by police in Chennai on Sunday for allegedly raping his minor sister. According to the information, the accused brother tied his sister's hands and legs before committing the crime. Meanwhile, the accused has been sent to an observation home.
Her friend raised an alarm
The 14-year-old rape-survivor opened up to her school friend and narrated her about the incident. After listening, her friend told her parents after which a complaint was filed. As per the report, the victim's mother had separated from her husband and married another man. The two siblings along with her mother were living with her second husband.
She was raped repeatedly
During the investigation, it has been revealed that the accused started raping her in December last year. He used to sexually abuse his sister when they were home alone. The accused had raped the girl multiple times, the police said. The minor girl stayed quiet about the abuse as her brother had threatened her.

POCSO Act against the accused
Soon after the girl's family got to know about the incident, they turned to the police and filed a complaint against the accused. Meanwhile, the police registered a complaint and took both the siblings for interrogation. The accused has been booked by the police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
