Punjab Congress crisis: Captain Amarinder Singh is set to resign as the Punjab Chief Minister at 4.30 pm on September 18. Party sources said Captain Amarinder Singh would resign from the chief ministership, and not from the party yet. Sources said amid the Punjab Congress crisis, Captain Amarinder Singh was angry at 'humiliation' by the party leadership. It has come to light that a joint letter signed by 50 MLAs had been received by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to replace the Chief Minister of Punjab.
