Chandrayaan 3 will be India's next moon mission planned in November 2020: Report

Despite the failure of Chandrayaan 2 lunar mission, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has decided to forge ahead with its next lunar mission, Chandrayaan 3. Sources said the agency has already started work on Chandrayaan 3, which has a deadline of November 2020. ISRO has formed a committee to draw up a blueprint for the mission and four high-level meetings have been held since October. Since Chandrayaan 2's orbiter is still functional, Chandrayaan 3 is expected to skip on this component. It will include only a lander and a rover, which will make the mission more cost-effective. https://www.ptcnews.tv/isro-shares-high-resolution-images-of-the-moon-captured-by-chandrayaan-2s-orbiter/ According to the report, ISRO is discussing site selection. This comes after ISRO chief K Sivan said, "Let me assure that ISRO will use all its experience, knowledge and technical prowess to set things right and demonstrate soft landing in the near future. On the technology part, yes, we could not achieve a soft landing, but all the systems functioned until 300 metres from the moon's surface. Very valuable data is available to set things right."
