India reports 418 deaths and 18,522 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours
India on Tuesday reported 418 deaths and 18,522 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday morning. The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 5,66,840 including 2,15,125 active cases, 3,34,822 cured and discharged and 16,893 deaths, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated that The total number of samples tested up to 29 June is 86,08,654 of which 2,10,292 samples were tested on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force (BSF) stated that "In the last 24 hours, 53 more BSF personnel tested positive for COVID-19 and 4 have recovered. There are 354 active cases and 659 personnel have recovered till date."
Coronavirus cases in India have been rising constantly after the government started announcing relaxations in lockdown restrictions. Amid a spike in coronavirus cases, Maharashtra government on Monday announced the extension of the ongoing lockdown in the state till July 31.
As per the Aarogya Setu App, a total of 13,099 COVID-19 patients were declared cured and recovered.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases across the globe has increased to 10,412,421 out of which 508,228 died due to the pandemic while 5,668,668 have been cured and discharged.
