Coronavirus India Highlights: Centre issues guidelines for home isolation of Covid patients

Coronavirus Omicron India Highlights: India on Wednesday reported 58,097 fresh Covid-19 cases, 15,389 recoveries, and 534 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the daily positivity rate has increased to 4.18 percent. The active Covid-19 cases have increased to 2,14,004 while total recoveries have reached 3,43,21,803 and the death toll has climbed to 4,82,551. Likewise, 140 students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University in Jammu and Kashmir's Katra tested positive for Covid-19, informed the university officials on Tuesday. 13:00 pm | Union Health Ministry issues revised guidelines for home isolation of mild/asymptomatic Covid-19 patients. The Health Ministry stated that "Patient under home isolation will stand discharged & end isolation after at least 7 days have passed from testing positive & no fever for 3 successive days. There is no need for re-testing after the home isolation period is over." 12:54 pm | "In the current scenario, ICU admission is not required (for COVID patients).
