Coronavirus: India records 3,53,299 recoveries, more than new COVID-19 cases

Coronavirus India Updates: India records more recoveries than new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total tally to 2,04,32,898. While giving coronavirus updates, the Union Health Ministry on Friday stated that India reported 3,26,098 new COVID-19 cases, 3,53,299 discharges, and 3,890 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 2,43,72,907 while total discharges have increased to 2,04,32,898, death toll to 2,66,207, and active cases stand at 36,73,802. As of now, a total of 18,04,57,579 people in the country has been administered COVID-19 vaccines. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 31,30,17,193 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to May 14, 2021. Of these, 16,93,093 samples were tested on Friday. Meanwhile, Delhi on Friday recorded 289 more coronavirus deaths; 8,506 new cases, lowest since April 10, with a positivity rate of 12.40 percent. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will be holding a video conferencing with Health Ministers of UP, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, on Saturday at 3 pm, to review the current COVID-19 situation and progress of the COVID-19 Vaccination drive in their respective States.
