Coronavirus: India reports 46,617 new cases, 59,384 recoveries in last 24 hours

Coronavirus India Updates: India on Friday reported 46,617 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours while the Active Caseload in the country has declined to 5,09,637. The Union Health Ministry gave coronavirus updates and stated that India reported 46,617 new COVID-19 cases, 59,384 recoveries, and 853 deaths in the last 24 hours. As of now, a total of 34,00,76,232 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccines. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 41,42,51,520 samples were tested for COVID-19 up to July 1, 2021. Of these, 18,80,026 samples were tested on Thursday. The recovery rate has increased to 97.01 percent while the weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.57 percent. The daily positivity rate is at 2.48 percent, less than 5 percent for 25 consecutive days. Meanwhile, the Union Government has been deputing Central teams from time to time to visit various states and UTs. These teams interact with the State/UT authorities and get a first-hand understanding of the challenges and issues being faced by them. -PTC News
