Coronavirus: India sees dip in daily infections with 1,20,529 new COVID-19 cases

Coronavirus India Updates: India on Saturday recorded a decline in daily new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases to 2,86,94,879. As per the coronavirus updates given by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 1,20,529 new COVID-19 cases, 1,97,894 discharges, and 3,380 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the total tally has increased to 2,86,94,879 while total discharges have gone up to 2,67,95,549, the death toll reached 3,44,082 while active cases stood at 15,55,248. On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the progress of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country. He was briefed about the current availability of vaccines and the roadmap for ramping it up. He was also apprised about the efforts undertaken to help various vaccine manufacturers ramp up the production of vaccines. PM also reviewed the status of vaccination coverage in the healthcare workers and front-line workers. He took stock of vaccination coverage in the above 45 and 18-44 age groups.
