Dera Sirsa chief Ram Rahim named as a key accused in Bargari case
15 Days after the results of Punjab elections 2022, Special Investigation Team (SIT) has named Dera Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim as the main culprit in the case of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari.
Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been registered as the main accused under FIR No. 117 in connection with the posting of controversial posters under FIR No. 128.

Faridkot court directed the Dera chief to appear on May 4 at 10 am through video conferencing.
According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) Gurmeet Ram Rahim, head of Dera Sacha Sauda, has been accused in the case of scattering of Guru Granth Sahib in the streets and putting up objectionable posters.
The SIT had already filed challans against seven Dera supporters in the case. The probe team told the court that Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim, who is currently lodged in Sunaria Jail, was also involved in the conspiracy.
Judicial Magistrate Madam Tarjani directed the Superintendent of Sunaria Jail to produce the Dera chief in the court on May 4 at 10 am via video conference.
However, despite the efforts of the probe team, Dera Sacha Sauda chief did not appear in the Faridkot court.

Earlier also the Punjab and Haryana high court postponed Ram Rahim's production warrants issued for his physical appearance in Faridkot court due to the law and order situation, and instructed the SIT to question him at the Sunaria jail in Rohtak, which the SIT did in November and December.
