PTC Web Desk: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has clarified that he has no association with the ongoing Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. He clarified that he prefers to stay away from political matters.

During a recent Instagram Live session, a fan asked the actor for his views on the protest. Responding to the question, Diljit said he was not aware of the details of the movement and reiterated that he does not wish to comment on political issues or public demonstrations.

"I am an artist, not a politician. Please keep me away from protests and political discussions. Not everything in life or in the world can always be perfect," he said during the interaction.

The singer also quoted a verse from Guru Granth Sahib, saying:

"Nanak Dukhia Sabh Sansaar, So Sukhia Jis Naam Adhaar," highlighting the Sikh teaching that true peace comes from spiritual devotion despite the challenges of the world.

What is the CJP protest about?

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has been staging a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding accountability over repeated allegations of examination paper leaks and irregularities in recruitment and examination processes.

The protesters have called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging failures in ensuring transparency and fairness in the country's examination system.

Students and supporters from several states have joined the demonstration, seeking reforms aimed at making recruitment and examination procedures more transparent and accountable. The protest has also drawn attention after environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk extended his support and continued his hunger strike alongside the movement.

While the agitation continues to gain public attention, Diljit made it clear that he does not wish to be linked with the campaign and intends to remain focused on his work as an entertainer rather than engaging in political discourse.

On the professional front, Diljit was recently seen in Imtiaz Ali's period drama Main Wapas Aaunga, based on the backdrop of the India-Pakistan Partition. The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina, and has emerged as one of the notable box-office successes of 2026. He is currently performing across multiple countries as part of his Aura Tour 2026.
