PTC Web Desk: Yash Raj Films has officially announced the release date of Mardaani 3, confirming the return of Rani Mukerji as the uncompromising police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. The third instalment of the popular franchise will hit theatres on January 30, earlier than its previously announced February 27 release.

Sharing the update on social media, the production house unveiled a striking new poster featuring Rani Mukerji in a commanding avatar, holding a gun and staring straight into the camera. Behind her, a group of young girls can be seen standing together, with the word “missing” marked across their faces, hinting at the central theme of the film.

According to the makers, 'Mardaani 3' will follow Shivani Roy as she takes on a dangerous mission to trace and rescue missing girls, continuing the franchise’s focus on hard-hitting social issues through intense police action.

The announcement triggered strong reactions from fans, many of whom praised Rani Mukerji’s screen presence and expressed excitement about her return to the role. Several social media users called her the soul of the franchise, with others saying they were eagerly waiting to watch her back in action on the big screen.

The film is directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. Speaking earlier about the project, Rani Mukerji had said the third part would raise the intensity compared to the previous films. She described 'Mardaani 3' as darker, more gripping and emotionally intense, adding that the team was conscious of the expectations attached to the franchise.

The 'Mardaani' series, which began in 2014, has earned praise for its bold storytelling and Mukerji’s powerful portrayal of a no-nonsense police officer, making the third chapter one of the most awaited releases of the year.
