INX Media Case: P Chidambaram arrested, to be produced before CBI Court
INX Media Case: Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram will be produced before the CBI court on Thursday following the arrest on Wednesday, from his residence. P Chidambaram is arrested in an INX media corruption case. Meanwhile, his son Karti Chidambaram will join the investigation, so that there will be clear cross-examination. P Chidambaram is alleged that he has given clearance for the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to INX Media Case for funds, approx. Rs 305 crore from abroad in 2007. At that time, P Chidambaram was the Finance Minister of India. INX Media at that time was owned by Indrani and Peter Mukerjea, who are currently sentenced jail in the Sheena Bora Murder Case. Meanwhile, Karti Chidambaram spoke up on the arrest of his father. He said, "This is a totally vindictive and malicious act, done by a pliant agency. This is only done to settle political scores. There was absolutely no necessity to have done this".
