Mutilated body of 9-year-old girl found in a bag in Rohtak
Mutilated body of a minor girl was on Sunday found by the Haryana Police in a bag from a canal in Rohtak.
Police have filed a murder case against unidentified persons.
A labourer from Titoli village, Ram Bhagat spotted the green bag when he had gone to the canal to check the supply water.
“The upper part of the body was outside the bag. It seems to be a case of murder,” Superintendent of Police (Rohtak) Pankaj Nain said.
"When we brought it out, we were shocked to find the body of a girl. She could be nine or 10. It looks like her hand was attacked by an animal. We are waiting for the autopsy report," Devi Singh, the investigating officer said.
“Efforts are being made to identify the body,” Superintendent said.
There were injury marks on the right hand and nowhere else in the body, he added.
“A post-mortem will be conducted by a three-member medical board on Monday. The cause of death and whether the girl was sexually assaulted can be ascertained only after we get the report,” said Nain.
