Massive fire breaks out at Chandigarh’s Sector 26 Deflo Club
PTC Web Desk: A major fire broke out at a nightclub in Chandigarh’s Sector 26 on Thursday evening, triggering panic among visitors and staff present inside the premises. At the time of the incident, several people were dining inside the Deflo club when the fire suddenly erupted, leading to chaos-like conditions.
Upon receiving information, teams from the fire brigade and the Chandigarh Police rushed to the spot and launched an immediate rescue operation. Firefighters and police personnel safely evacuated customers and staff members from the building after strenuous efforts. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
According to initial information, the fire started on the first floor of the club. A few fire tenders initially reached the location and began efforts to douse the flames. However, as the fire spread rapidly, additional fire engines were called in to control the situation. Around 12 fire brigade vehicles were deployed at the scene.
As a precautionary measure, the administration sealed the surrounding area to prevent any loss of life or property. The police also restricted public movement near the club and cleared the nearby area during the firefighting operation.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Officials from the fire department said the assessment of damage and the reason behind the incident would only be determined after the fire is completely brought under control.
