40 Delhi schools receive bomb threat via e-mail, ransom of 30 thousand dollars demanded
PTC News Desk: More than 40 schools in the national capital received bomb threats via e-mail and demanded a ransom of USD 30,000, Delhi Police said on Monday.
"I planted multiple bombs (lead azide, explosive compound used in detonators) inside the building. I planted multiple bombs inside the building. The bombs are small and hidden very well. It will not cause very much damage to the building, but many people will be injured when the bombs detonate. You all deserve to suffer and lose limbs. If I do not receive USD 30,000, I will detonate the bombs," the threat mail read.
This email came on December 8 at around 11:38 pm.
In the wake of the threat mail, the school administrations have sent the students back home, while the police have also been informed. Delhi police ha launched investigation into the matter and no suspicious item has been found so far. The latest threat comes nearly a month after several CRPF schools across the nation received bomb threats via e-mail. However later on the threats turned out to be hoax messages.
On October 20, a powerful blast ripped through the wall of a CRPF school in Delhi's Rohini area, that damaged nearby shops and vehicles, and also made a hole in the wall of the building.
The reports of bomb threats in recent times have gained significant momentum. Several schools, Indian airlines, railways have received bomb threat messages which all turned out to be hoax.
