Passenger assaulted: TTE attacks commuter on UP train
PTC News Desk: In a deeply disturbing incident, a Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) was caught on camera assaulting a passenger aboard the Barauni-Lucknow Express in Uttar Pradesh. The video of the shocking altercation, where the TTE repeatedly slapped the passenger, circulated widely on social media, prompting swift action from the railways.
In the video, the TTE can be seen forcefully slapping the passenger and pulling his muffler in an attempt to make him stand up. The passenger, bewildered and pleading innocence, repeatedly asks, "Mera koi galti hai, sir (What is my mistake, sir)," as the assault unfolds.
While the exact reason for the TTE's aggressive behavior is unclear, it appears to stem from a dispute over a ticket. A bystander recording the incident questions the TTE, asking, "Maar kyun rahe ho (Why are you beating him)" and then adds, "Ticket doge tum (Will you give the ticket)."
