PM Modi Degree Row: Supreme Court denies relief to AAP's Sanjay Singh in defamation case
PM Modi Degree Row: The Supreme Court on Monday denied relief to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh in a defamation case lodged for his alleged comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's educational qualification.
The AAP leader will now have to face the case, which is currently pending before a Gujarat trial court.

The apex court dismissed Singh's petition challenging an order of the Gujarat High Court, which refused to quash the summons issued against him in the case.
"We are not inclined to entertain the present petition," the apex court said.
The bench of Justices B R Gavai and Sandeep Mehta stated that the high court had already observed that all contentions available to the parties were kept open and that no observations made in its order would influence the trial judge.
On February 16, the high court dismissed Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's petitions to quash the summons issued against them in the defamation case.
The AAP leaders had challenged the summons issued by a trial court in the Gujarat University case in High Court, as well as the sessions court's subsequent order dismissing their revision applications against the summons.
