Ahmedabad, July 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat starting Thursday, where he will inaugurate several significant projects, including Gujarat's first greenfield airport near Rajkot city.

The international airport, situated at Hirasar village near Rajkot city, will be inaugurated by PM Modi on Thursday afternoon, as confirmed by a release from the state government. This airport is a crucial addition to Gujarat's infrastructure, designed to support increasing air travel demands and boost regional connectivity.


Following the airport inauguration, the Prime Minister will address a large gathering at the Race Course ground in Rajkot city. During the event, PM Modi will also dedicate packages 8 and 9 of the Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) Yojana.

These recently completed packages aim to provide water to approximately 52,398 acres of irrigable land in 95 villages and offer potable water to around 98,000 people in the Saurashtra region, according to the state government's release.

In addition to these key projects, PM Modi will also inaugurate an over-bridge and a newly-constructed library from the same venue.

On the second day of his visit, Friday, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 'Semicon India 2023' exhibition in the state capital, Gandhinagar. The exhibition will showcase cutting-edge technology related to semiconductors, highlighting India's advancements in the field.

PM Modi's visit to Gujarat marks a significant step towards advancing the state's infrastructure and technology sectors, further contributing to the growth and development of the region.
