Owner of multiplex beaten-up, protesters damage BMW in UP : The owner of a multiplex in Sitapur of Uttar Pradesh was allegedly beaten up  by a group of activists opposing the screening of controversial movie ‘Padmaavat’, police said. The activists thrashed Sanjay Agarwal, owner of the SCM multiplex where the film was being screened, they said.They protesters also damaged his BMW car and abused him for screening the movie, police officials.Owner of multiplex beaten-up, protesters damage BMW in UPIt is to be mentioned that various incidents of arson, violence, damaging vehicles had been witnessed  in last few days in protest against the release of the controversial film 'Padmavat'. The censor board had directed the producers of the film to change the 'title' of the 'Padmavati' to 'Padmavat'. Earlier, Supreme Court agreed to hear pleas for contempt of court to take action against the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat governments and Karni Sena members. The Apex court has initiated this action of course in view of infuriating incidents of violence for not allowing the film ‘Padmavat’ to be released in normal ambiance. - PTC News
