Fuel prices hiked across country for 19th day in a row; Here are latest rates of petrol and diesel
The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased across the country for the 19th consecutive day. The price of petrol was increased by 16 paise per litre while diesel price has gone up by 14 paise per litre on Thursday. The price of petrol has cumulatively increased by Rs 8.66 per litre while diesel has price has increased by a huge margin of Rs 10.63 per litre.
The prices of Diesel have record all-time high rates while the price of petrol is at a 19-month high. The diesel price has become costlier than petrol in the national capital after the Delhi government increased the Value Added Tax (VAT).
Amid rising prices of petrol and diesel, Congress, on Wednesday, announced that it will stage protests across the country on Monday over the "unprecedented" rise in the fuel prices.
Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi took a dig out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He wrote: "Modi government has unlocked the prices of petrol and diesel amid coronavirus pandemic.

Similarly, the official twitter handle of Congress wrote: "BJP Govt promised to improve the life of every Indian, the reality is far from it, the govt has made matters only worse."
