Petrol price in Punjab: Petrol and diesel prices in India continue to hike as the fuel rates were increased by 35 paise each in the national capital Delhi on Saturday, the 14th hike this month.
While petrol price had breached Rs 100-mark in various parts of the country, petrol was being sold at Rs 100 in several districts of Punjab as well. In Ajnala, the petrol was being retailed at Rs 100.09.
With the latest hike in petrol and diesel prices in India, the rates have crossed Rs 100 per litre in more state capitals, days after the fuel prices crossed the Rs 100-mark in Mumbai, Bhopal, Jaipur, and Bengaluru, along with several other cities.
As per the notification posted by state-owned oil retailers, petrol is being sold at Rs 98.11 per litre in Delhi, while diesel costs Rs 88.65 per litre. Likewise, petrol reached a record high of Rs 104.22 per litre in Mumbai and diesel at Rs 96.16 per litre.
In Patna as well, the fuel prices crossed the Rs 100 per litre mark as it is being sold at Rs 100.14 per litre.
Petrol prices had already breached the Rs 100-mark in cities like Mumbai, Jaipur, Bhopal, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
Reportedly, after the latest revision, petrol prices have crossed the Rs 100 per litre mark in as many as 11 states and UTs. These are Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Ladakh, Bihar, Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir.
