PM Modi in Lok Sabha, people are making politics over plight of farmers: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Congress in the Lok Sabha today, during his address in reply to Motion of Thanks to the President’s address. "People are making politics over the plight of farmers," says PM Modi. "The farm produce goes waste due to lack of proper supply-chain management. We are strengthening this sector in addition to food processing sector," Prime Minister adds. PM Modi speaking about the work done by Congress said, "While our government opened bank accounts for the poor and ensured that pensions and transfers benefit the poor farmer, the housewife, old people and widows, the Congress in their time looted the poor by opening pension accounts and gave monetary benefits to widows for those who were never even born." "Even today, 20 crore people are living without electricity. We have made progress in electrification but we have miles to go," says PM Modi. "We have increased the production. We have expanded the transmission network - 83% more than previous governments," he adds. He also said, "Partition was a result of Congress' wrong policies. Not a single day has passed when the country has not suffered due to poison sowed by you."
