Chandigarh, September 11, 2022: PTC Medical Excellence Awards, a first-of-its-kind award ceremony in Punjab, was organised by PTC News.
The award ceremony, held in Chandigarh, took place on September 8, Thursday at Hyatt Regency Chandigarh. The award ceremony was aimed at recognising excellence, commitment, dedication, and hard work of the medical professionals in the healthcare industry. Dr Bharati Parvin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, was the chief guest at PTC Medical Excellence Awards. She felicitated and honoured the most eminent medical professionals for their outstanding dedication to their field. National Commission of Scheduled Caste Chairman Vijay Sampla was the Guest of Honour at the ceremony. MD and President of PTC Network Rabindra Narayan welcomed chief guest Dr Bharati Parvin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, and presented his views about PTC Medical Excellence Awards. He said although such events must be organised by governments, PTC Network takes it as its social responsibility to honour the excellence, commitment and hard work of eminent medical professionals and corona warriors. He described doctors as 'God on Earth'. On the occasion, National Commission of Scheduled Caste Chairman Vijay Sampla also expressed his gratitude to doctors for their valuable contribution to society. As many as 30 medical professionals were honoured with awards such as – Excellence in Contribution – Ayurveda (Punjab), Best Innovation – Ayurveda, Lifetime Achievement Award and many others.Dr Jagat Ram was given the 'PTC Medical Excellence Award for Lifetime Achievement.' He is an ophthalmologist and former director of PGIMER, Chandigarh.

List of doctors and institutions which were awarded PTC Medical Excellence Awards 2022:
'PTC Medical Excellence Award for Lifetime Achievement' was given to Dr Jagat Ram. He is an ophthalmologist and former director of PGIMER, Chandigarh. Dr Raj Bahadur, senior ortho surgeon, was given the award for Special Recognition in the field of medical practitioners and professionals. Dr Tarunpreet Singh Taneja was given award for ‘Excellence In Contribution – Ortho’ for his dedication towards his work. The award for Best Private Cardio Hospital in Punjab was given to Capitol Hospital. The honour was received by Dr. CS Pruthi. Dr Harnoor Singh Pruthi from Capitol Hospital received the 'Best Private Oncology Hospital of Punjab' at the PTC Medical Excellence Awards. The award of Best Private Hospital - Super Speciality Services went to Dr Naveen Chitkara of NHS Hospital Jalandhar. Dr Mandeep Verma, Dr Diksha & Jagtar Singh Pannu of ‘Pannu Vaid Dukh Door Dawa Khaana’ were awarded with Excellence in Contribution in the field of Ayurveda in Punjab. Dr Avtar Singh of Amandeep Hospital was honoured for ‘Excellence In Contribution for Orthopedics’ in North India. PTC Medical Excellence Award for ‘Special Recognition For Family Medicine & Care’ was awarded to Dr Gurdaver Singh Dhaliwal. Mr Yogesh and KK Mittal of Old Forest Ayurveda were honoured with 'Best Innovation Award in the field of Ayurveda'. Dr Prashant Jerath of Jerath Pathlab & Allergy Testing Centre received the award for the Best Path Lab Centre. Dr Balkar Singh Kundan of Kundan Kidney Care Centre was awarded the Best Services-Kidney Care (Ayurvedic) at the PTC Medical Excellence Awards. PTC Medical Excellence Award for Best Services in Radiology was awarded to Dr Varinder Garg, OSD, Union Health Minister. The award of Best Administration (Hospital) In Tricity was given to Dr. Vipin Kaushal, (Medical Superintendent, PGI). IVY Healthcare Group was honoured with the Best Hospital Network of Punjab Award and the honour was received by Dr Gurtej Singh. Simardeep Singh Chhabra was honoured with the 'Award Of Honour' for playing an important role in Covid-19 pandemic for strengthening the diagnostics and laboratory services in India. Dr Parmjeet Singh Walia was recognised as the ‘Best Doctor – Skin’ in the Tricity at the PTC Medical Excellence Awards. In recognition of his services, especially during the pandemic outbreak, Dr Shubh Mohan Singh from PGI, Chandigarh, was honoured with the award of ‘Best services in Mental Health Management.’ The award for ‘Best Institute-Social Service’ was given to Harjit Singh Sabharwal of Tera Tera Mission Hospital. Dr Harpreet Kaur from Patiala was given the award for ‘Best Dental Surgeon’ at the PTC Medical Excellence Awards. Dr G Dewan was bestowed with the ‘Best Health Services During Pandemic.' The ‘Best Medical Institute of North India’ award was given to PGIMER, Chandigarh and the honour was received by Rakesh Sehgal. The award for ‘Best Charitable Medical Institute’ was given to Guru Ram Das Institute Of Medical Science & Research. The honour was received by Dr AP Singh. Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Sangrur, was felicitated for being the ‘Best Medical Institute For Cancer.' The honour was received by Dr Dimple Kalra, Dr Rahatdeep Singh and Dr Sankalp Sancheti. The award for ‘Best Hair Transplant Specialist’ was given to KK Arora (MBBS, MS. MCH) The award for ‘Best Services in Anesthesia and Pain Management’ was presented to Dr Arun Kumar Sharma at the PTC Medical Excellence Awards ceremony. Dr Ashish Bhalla was presented with the award of Best Services In Emergency Medicine at PTC Medical Excellence Awards. Dr Ramneek Singh Bedi was given the award for Best Paediatrician of Tricity at the PTC Medical Excellence Awards. Dr Manmohan Singh was felicitated as the Best Cardiologist in Patiala Dr Manmeet Batra was honoured for ‘Best Services in field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology' at the PTC Medical Excellence Awards.
