In the Municipal Corporation Patiala elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has emerged victorious, securing 43 out of the 53 seats.
Patiala Rural: AAP won 23 out of 26 seats.
Patiala Urban: AAP won 18 out of 32 seats, including 7 seats deferred by a High Court order.
Sanaur: AAP won all 2 seats
In the Bassī Pathāna Municipal Committee election, independent candidate Karamjit Singh Dhindsa won from Ward number 6.
For Ward number 13 of Rayya Nagar Panchayat, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate emerged victorious. In Ward number 23, the Congress candidate won the election.
In Baba Bakala Sahib Nagar Panchayat elections, out of a total of 13 wards, 2 wards were uncontested with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates winning. The elections were held for 11 wards, where AAP emerged victorious in 9 wards, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) won 3 wards, and an independent candidate claimed 1 ward. Congress failed to win any seats.
The results for the 11 wards of Nagar Panchayat Naroat Jaimal Singh have been announced. Congress secured victory in 5 wards, BJP won 1 ward, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed victory in 5 wards.
In the Machhiwara Sahib Nagar Council elections, 7 candidates from various wards had already won uncontested. The elections for 8 remaining wards were held today, with the following results:

The results for 13 wards of Mullanpur Dakha have been declared. Congress won in 7 wards, Aam Aadmi Party secured victory in 3 wards, and independent candidates won in 3 wards. Congress has taken control of the Mullapur Dakha Municipal Council by winning 7 wards.
In Ward No. 60, Mamta Ashu, wife of former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, lost the election. AAP's Gurpreet Singh Babbal emerged victorious.
In Ward No. 9, BJP candidate Diksha Ravi Batra won the election. In Ward No. 75, AAP candidate Simran Kaur emerged victorious.
In Ward No. 16 of Gurdaspur Municipal Council, Congress candidate Varun Sharma defeated AAP's candidate by 22 votes. A total of 1016 votes were cast in the election. Varun Sharma thanked the voters by holding a rally in the ward.

Independent candidate Gurcharan Singh emerged victorious by a narrow margin of 44 votes.
In Ward No. 6 of Handiaya Nagar Panchayat, tensions escalated during the final moments of voting as a booth-capturing attempt led to a major commotion. Party workers and candidates clashed, resulting in a physical altercation that caused panic among the crowd. The police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the crowd. Security was significantly tightened by the police. The clash between party workers and police action continued for quite some time.
Managing crowds outside the counting centres has emerged as a significant challenge for the Jalandhar police. With rising tensions and increasing numbers of people gathering to witness the results, the police is having a tough time maintaining law and order. Security forces have been put on high alert.
The Patiala Municipal Corporation elections witnessed chaos and violence throughout the day. After 4 pm, polling booth gates were shut from the outside. Incidents of hooliganism surfaced early in the day, with stone-pelting reported as early as 6.30 am in Ward No. 40. Similar violent episodes were reported from multiple wards, deterring residents from stepping out to cast their votes. The unrest resulted in a significantly low voter turnout.

Baljinder Kaur, a local resident, accused an illiterate woman of casting her vote fraudulently. This led to heated arguments at the polling booth. To ensure smooth conduct of the elections, the police have prohibited the use of cellphones at polling stations. Officials have issued strict guidelines requiring voters to carry their voter ID cards as proof of identity when casting their votes.

Punjab Municipal Elections Live Updates: Voting has officially begun for the Punjab civic body elections, with citizens heading to the polls to cast their votes for the five municipal corporations, 44 municipal councils, and various nagar panchayats. The elections will take place from 7 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
Key municipalities going to polls are Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Phagwara. A total of 37.32 lakh voters, including 19.55 lakh males and 17.76 lakh females, are eligible to participate in the elections.
Polling is being conducted for 381 wards in the municipal corporations and 598 wards in the municipal councils and nagar panchayats. The state election commissioner, Raj Kamal Chaudhuri, has assured that all necessary arrangements are in place, with heightened security at 344 hypersensitive and 665 sensitive polling stations. A total of 21,500 personnel, including police and Home Guard Jawans, are deployed across the state to ensure smooth voting.
