Tania's father attack case: Men who opened fire injured in police encounter in Moga
PTC News Desk: In a significant development, the key accused who opened fire at doctor father of Punjabi actress Tania had been traced and injured in a police encounter in Punjab's Moga district on Sunday.
The encounter took place following a joint operation conducted by the Moga Police and the counter-intelligence team two days after Punjabi actor Tania's father, Dr Aniljeet Kamboj, was shot at while on duty. The accused disguised as patients opened two rounds of fire while Dr. Kamboj was on his duty.
The accused have been identified as Gurlal Singh, Khushpreet Singh and Gurmandeep Singh.
The doctor sustained two bullet injuries - one near the chest and another in the abdomen - and was admitted to Moga Medicity Hospital in a critical condition. A three-hour surgery was performed to remove the bullets and he remains in the ICU.
According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the conspiracy was orchestrated by Canada-based gangster Lakhvir Singh alias Landa Harike. He said that the police have arrested three main accused involved in this conspiracy.
The investigation revealed that the accused plotted a plan to murder Dr. Kamboj on the instructions of Landa Harike. However after a brief chase and exchange of massive gunfire, the accused were shot in the leg. The were rushed to Moga Civil Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
